3 Description
The ISO1176Tis an isolated differentiallinetransceiver with integrated oscillator outputs thatprovide the primary voltage for an isolationtransformer. The device is ideal for long transmissionlines because the ground loop is broken to allow thedevice to operate with a much larger common-modevoltage range.
The symmetrical isolation barrier of each device istested to provide 4242Vpk of isolation per VDE for 60seconds between the line transceiver and the logicevel interface
The galvanically isolated differential bus transceiver isan integrated circuit designed for bi-directional datacommunication on multipoint bus-transmission lines.The transceiver combines a galvanically isolateddifferential line driver and differential input linereceiver. The driver has an active high enable withisolated enable-state output on the ISODE pin (pin10) to facilitate direction control. The driver differentialoutputs and the receiver differential inputs connectinternally to form a differential input/output (WO) busport that is designed to offer minimum loading to thebus whenever the driver is disabled or Vcc2 = 0.
Any cabled WO can be subjected to electrical noisetransients from various sources. These noisetransients can cause damage to the transceiverand/or near-by sensitive circuitry if they are ofsufficient magnitude and duration. The ISO1176T
cansignificantly reduce the risk of data corruption anddamage to expensive control circuits.The device is characterized for operation over theambient temperature range of -40°C to 85C.
